A World-Class Facility for Aspiring Students

Spread over around 4.75 lakh square feet near Waghodia Crossing on NH-8A, adjacent to L&T Knowledge City, Sardardham Bhavan-3 offers accommodation for nearly 1,000 boys and 1,000 girls. The facility includes 278 well-designed rooms, a spacious central dining hall, advanced libraries, e-learning centres, auditoriums, a dedicated UPSC study centre, a state-of-the-art gymnasium, a medical centre, and robust security systems.

These amenities create a comprehensive ecosystem that enables students from various backgrounds, including economically weaker sections, to focus on their academic goals in a supportive environment. The complex is particularly beneficial for those preparing for the UPSC, GPSC, and other competitive examinations, providing not just housing but also essential resources for holistic development.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for Phase-2 of the Dharamshi Harji Mordiya Girls Chhatralaya. This expansion will further strengthen hostel facilities for female students pursuing higher studies and civil services.

Launch of Sardar Dham Education Support Yojana

In a key announcement, PM Modi launched the ‘Sardar Dham Education Support Yojana’, a Rs 500 crore scheme. This initiative will extend financial assistance, mentorship, training, and academic guidance to meritorious students from economically modest backgrounds, helping them overcome barriers to quality education and competitive exam preparation.

Rooted in the Legacy of Sardar Patel

Sardardham draws inspiration from the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and operates as a community-led initiative focused on nation-building through education. Managed primarily by the Patidar community, the trust has been steadily expanding its infrastructure under Mission 2026. With the addition of Bhavan-3, alongside earlier phases, it continues to grow as a major hub that nurtures talent and promotes inclusive access to educational opportunities.

The organisation also runs established scholarship programmes, including higher education assistance schemes and student adoption initiatives, which support students in fields such as medicine, engineering, and professional courses.

PM Modi’s Vision for Self-Reliance and Youth Empowerment

While addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi emphasised the importance of economic self-discipline in the face of global uncertainties. He encouraged citizens to reduce unnecessary foreign exchange outflows by choosing local products, opting for public transport or electric vehicles, and postponing non-essential purchases. He noted that every individual contribution plays a role in strengthening the nation during challenging times.

PM Modi toured the campus, visiting the reception area, dining facilities, student amenities, and digital learning spaces. He was honoured with the ‘Sardar Gaurav Ratna’ award in recognition of his contributions to national development. Describing Sardardham as a “launchpad” for Gujarat’s youth, he highlighted how such initiatives enhance educational access and create pathways for future leaders.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from thousands, including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi. A roadshow in Vadodara followed the programme, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

The MGMM Outlook

The inauguration of Sardardham Bhavan-3 marks an important milestone in Gujarat’s educational landscape, reflecting a strong commitment toward empowering youth through accessible, high-quality infrastructure and targeted academic support. By creating a world-class residential and learning ecosystem for students preparing for competitive examinations, this initiative strengthens opportunities for thousands of young aspirants, especially those from economically modest backgrounds, helping them pursue their ambitions with dignity and confidence.

The launch of the Sardar Dham Education Support Yojana alongside this project further reinforces a broader vision of inclusive growth and self-reliance. Such community-led efforts, rooted in the ideals of education, service, and nation-building, not only nurture future leaders and professionals but also contribute significantly to India’s long-term development by investing in its most valuable asset—its youth.
