Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 10 inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth approximately ₹9,400 crore in Hyderabad. These initiatives mark a significant step towards strengthening infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, and promoting industrial progress in Telangana. The projects are expected to create thousands of employment opportunities and position the state as a key manufacturing and export hub in the country.
In his address, the Prime Minister described Cyberabad as an emerging centre of growth with immense potential. He highlighted how these new developments would improve regional linkages and support large-scale economic activities while generating jobs, especially for the youth and women.

Advancing Connectivity and Industrial Infrastructure
A major highlight was the foundation stone for the four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar, part of the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor. This ₹3,175 crore project is designed to reduce travel time by nearly 90 minutes, lower vehicle operating costs, and ease congestion along the route. It will also strengthen road connectivity between Telangana and Karnataka, benefiting pharma clusters, special economic zones, and logistics hubs around Hyderabad.
Another key initiative is the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district, developed under the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor. Spread across 3,245 acres at a cost exceeding ₹2,350 crore, this integrated industrial smart city will feature world-class infrastructure, including robust road, rail, and airport connectivity. The project is anticipated to attract investments of around ₹10,000 crore and generate substantial employment in sectors such as automobiles, food processing, machinery, metals, electrical equipment, and logistics. It forms part of the broader National Industrial Corridor Development Programme aimed at fostering modern manufacturing ecosystems.
Additional projects include upgrades to railway infrastructure, such as multi-tracking sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada line and the Kazipet Rail Under Bypass, along with the inauguration of an Indian Oil Corporation Greenfield POL Terminal. These efforts collectively aim to enhance logistics efficiency and energy security in the region.
Revitalising the Textile Sector with PM MITRA Park
The event gave special attention to the textile industry with the inauguration of India’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park in Warangal, known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. Developed at an estimated cost of ₹1,700 crore (approximately ₹1,695 crore in some estimates), the park spans about 1,327 acres and incorporates advanced facilities including internal roads, a dedicated power substation, assured water supply, a Common Effluent Treatment Plant with Zero Liquid Discharge technology, and plans for a 10 MW solar plant.
Strategically located near the proposed Nagpur-Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway and NH-163, the park aligns with the government’s “5F” strategy — Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. It seeks to create an integrated textile value chain that boosts production, exports, and employment. Reports indicate that 62% of the park has already been allotted, with investments of around ₹3,862 crore committed so far. The facility is projected to generate nearly one lakh jobs, with a strong focus on opportunities for women, and will enable units to benefit from schemes like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) programme.
The Prime Minister recalled India’s historical prominence in the global textile sector and expressed confidence that modern infrastructure and policy support would help the country reclaim its leadership position.
A Vision for Sustained Progress
These projects reflect a continued emphasis on simultaneous reforms and large-scale infrastructure development across highways, railways, airports, and industrial corridors. By improving connectivity and creating an enabling environment for industries, the initiatives are set to contribute to balanced regional growth and long-term economic resilience in Telangana.
The MGMM Outlook
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s launch of ₹9,400 crore worth of development projects in Telangana marks a major step toward accelerating the state’s transformation into a key economic and industrial powerhouse. By focusing on critical sectors such as highways, railways, industrial corridors, and energy infrastructure, these projects are set to significantly improve connectivity, reduce logistical bottlenecks, and create a stronger foundation for long-term regional growth. The emphasis on modern infrastructure also reflects a broader national push toward making Indian states globally competitive in manufacturing and exports.
The launch of India’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park in Warangal further underlines the government’s commitment to combining industrial expansion with employment generation and sectoral revival. With large-scale investments, improved industrial ecosystems, and thousands of job opportunities—especially for youth and women—these initiatives are expected to strengthen Telangana’s role in India’s growth story while contributing meaningfully to the vision of self-reliance, inclusive development, and sustainable economic progress.
