Strengthening Trade and Industry: UP International Trade Show 2025

The UPITS-2025, held from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, was designed as a platform to boost exports and attract investment in Uttar Pradesh. The event drew more than 2,400 exhibitors, 125,000 B2B visitors, and over 450,000 general attendees, highlighting the growing business opportunities in the region. Russia participated as the partner country, facilitating collaboration in trade, technology, and innovation.

The trade show showcased diverse sectors including handicrafts, textiles, leather, agriculture, food processing, IT, and AYUSH. A major highlight was the “One District One Product” (ODOP) pavilion, which featured handcrafted items from across the state, such as Bhadohi carpets and Firozabad glassware. Demonstrations of artificial intelligence and digital solutions by Uttar Pradesh’s IT and Electronics Department underscored the state’s push toward innovation-driven growth and enterprise development.

Transforming Rajasthan: Mega Projects Across Energy and Infrastructure

Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi visited Banswara, Rajasthan, to inaugurate multiple infrastructure and energy projects. The centerpiece of this initiative was the Mahi Banswara Atomic Power Project, a ₹42,000 crore nuclear facility that will generate 4,700 MW using pressurized heavy water reactor technology. Once operational, it will significantly strengthen India’s energy capacity while supporting clean energy goals.

In addition to nuclear power, Modiji inaugurated projects in renewable energy and solar power totaling ₹19,210 crore, alongside transmission projects under the Renewable Energy Zone scheme valued at ₹13,180 crore. Under the PM-KUSUM scheme, 3,517 MW of feeder-level solarization across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka will further accelerate India’s transition to sustainable energy.

Water infrastructure projects worth ₹20,830 crore, including dams, artificial reservoirs, and canal networks, were also initiated to enhance water supply and management in the region. Public health and social infrastructure saw notable development with the establishment of a 250-bed hospital in Banswara, alongside IT and e-governance centers in Jaipur, and improved sewerage and water supply systems in multiple districts.

Enhancing Connectivity and Employment Opportunities

Prime Minister Modi also flagged off three new trains to strengthen connectivity in Rajasthan: the Vande Bharat Express services between Bikaner and Delhi Cantt, Jodhpur and Delhi Cantt, and the Udaipur City–Chandigarh Express. These rail links aim to enhance mobility and economic integration across the state.

In addition to infrastructure development, over 15,000 appointment letters were distributed to new recruits across various sectors, including education, engineering, and public administration, reflecting a focus on generating employment and strengthening the workforce.

The MGMM Outlook

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent initiatives in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan highlight a decisive step toward strengthening India’s economic and industrial landscape. The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS-2025) in Greater Noida emerged as a major platform for investment and trade, drawing thousands of exhibitors and visitors, while featuring Russia as the partner country to promote collaboration in technology and commerce. With sectors spanning handicrafts, textiles, IT, agriculture, and AYUSH, the event emphasized innovation-driven growth, particularly through the “One District One Product” pavilion and digital demonstrations by the state’s IT department. These efforts showcase Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to expanding industrial opportunities, boosting exports, and positioning itself as a hub for entrepreneurship and technological advancement.

Simultaneously, the inauguration of over ₹1.22 lakh crore in development projects in Rajasthan reflects an ambitious drive toward energy self-sufficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and public welfare. Central to these projects is the Mahi Banswara Atomic Power Project, complemented by renewable energy initiatives, large-scale water management projects, and improved social infrastructure, including hospitals and e-governance centers. Connectivity was further enhanced with new Vande Bharat and express train services, while employment generation was prioritized with the distribution of over 15,000 appointment letters across diverse sectors. Together, these measures illustrate a vision that combines industrial expansion, clean energy, and social development to foster inclusive growth and long-term regional transformation.
