Strengthening Families Through Health: Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan

The Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan is envisioned as a large-scale public health movement, spanning from September 17 to October 2. Organized jointly by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Child Development, this 16-day campaign seeks to transform health outcomes for women, children, and families across the country.

The initiative will see more than one lakh health camps set up at government facilities, ranging from Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to community health centers and district hospitals. These camps will provide services for the prevention, detection, and treatment of a wide spectrum of conditions, including non-communicable diseases like cancer, diabetes, and hypertension, as well as communicable diseases such as tuberculosis and sickle cell anemia. Maternal and adolescent health will also be prioritized through antenatal checkups, immunizations, and counselling sessions.

Alongside physical health, the campaign will pay special attention to nutrition, menstrual hygiene, mental wellness, and lifestyle improvements. With support from Ayush systems, yoga, and traditional wellness practices, the campaign aims to create a well-rounded ecosystem of care. Community participation will be central to its success, with ASHA workers, Anganwadi staff, self-help groups, and local bodies actively involved in mobilizing citizens.

Dhar’s Industrial Transformation: PM MITRA Park

While health remains a central theme of the celebrations, the inauguration of the PM MITRA Park in Dhar highlights the government’s equally strong focus on economic growth. Conceived under Modiji’s “5F vision”—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign—the park is expected to become a game-changer for India’s textile industry.

Spread across more than 2,000 acres, the park has already drawn investment proposals exceeding ₹23,000 crore, with over ninety companies securing land allotments. Once fully operational, the facility is projected to generate around three lakh jobs, both direct and indirect, significantly boosting employment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh. For local cotton farmers, the park promises greater value addition, stronger linkages to industry, and better market returns.

The infrastructure at the park will include modern amenities such as effluent treatment plants, solar power systems, advanced road networks, and plug-and-play factory units. Its strategic location in Dhar gives it a logistical advantage, placing it close to major cotton-producing regions and key transportation networks. The state government has hailed it as a “game-changer” that will put Madhya Pradesh on the global textile map.

Celebrating Nutrition Month and Tribal Welfare

September 17 will also mark the beginning of the eighth National Nutrition Month (Poshan Maah). As part of the celebrations, nearly ten lakh women will receive financial aid under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, delivered directly to their bank accounts. Other innovations, such as the Suman Sakhi Chatbot, will help women in remote areas access vital information about maternal and child health.

The event will also feature the distribution of the one croreth sickle cell screening and counselling card. Furthermore, the government will roll out the Adi Seva Parv under the Adi Karmyogi Abhiyan, a program dedicated to improving health, education, sanitation, and environmental conservation in tribal regions.

A Dual Path Toward Progress

The launch of these initiatives underscores a dual approach to development—addressing immediate social needs while laying the foundation for long-term economic strength. The Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan represents a nationwide effort to empower families through health and nutrition, while the PM MITRA Park symbolizes India’s ambition to establish itself as a global leader in textiles.

Together, they reflect a model of growth where social welfare and industrial expansion are not seen as competing priorities but as complementary pillars of nation-building.

The MGMM Outlook

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday is being marked with two landmark initiatives in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, that showcase his vision of combining social empowerment with economic transformation. The launch of the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan is not just a health drive but a nationwide movement to strengthen families through better healthcare, nutrition, and awareness. By organizing more than one lakh health camps across the country, the campaign directly focuses on women, children, and families, covering areas like maternal health, menstrual hygiene, non-communicable and communicable diseases, as well as mental wellness. What makes this initiative powerful is the involvement of local workers, community groups, and traditional systems like yoga and Ayurveda, creating a holistic ecosystem for public health and well-being.

At the same time, the inauguration of the PM MITRA Park in Dhar represents a massive push towards industrial growth under Modiji’s 5F vision—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign. Spread over 2,000 acres, with investments already crossing ₹23,000 crore, the textile hub is expected to create nearly three lakh jobs and open new opportunities for cotton farmers and entrepreneurs. The project not only strengthens Madhya Pradesh’s position as a textile powerhouse but also contributes to India’s global ambitions in manufacturing and exports. Together, these initiatives reflect a governance model where social welfare and industrial expansion move hand in hand, ensuring that the benefits of development reach both the people and the economy.
