Bilateral trade has expanded nearly four-fold, while investments from Nordic countries into India have increased by approximately 200 percent. The India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), which entered into force in October 2025, along with the India-EU Free Trade Agreement covering several Nordic nations, are anticipated to open new avenues for investment, market access, and supply chain resilience. Cooperation in space, digital infrastructure, research and education, and defence industrial partnerships also received significant attention.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Norway, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in over four decades, also saw the bilateral relationship upgraded to a Green Strategic Partnership.
