Ram Mandir to 5G: Amit Shah Showcases Modiji’s Vision of Blending Heritage and Technology

In a recent address during the 63rd Foundation Day of the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Union Home Minister Amit Shah drew attention to two hallmark achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure—the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the nationwide rollout of 5G technology. Through these two milestones, Shah portrayed Modiji as a leader who has simultaneously revived India's ancient cultural pride while propelling it into the future with cutting-edge digital innovation.

A Temple Reclaimed: Cultural and Spiritual Significance of the Ram Mandir

Amit Shah proudly stated that Prime Minister Modi fulfilled a centuries-old dream of countless Indians by building the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. After a prolonged legal and socio-political struggle that lasted for decades, the construction of the temple began in full earnest following the landmark Supreme Court verdict in 2019. The consecration ceremony took place on January 22, 2024, with grand celebrations and spiritual fervor, marking the return of Lord Ram to his janmabhoomi after 500 years.

The significance of this event was not merely religious. It carried deep emotional and cultural weight for millions of Hindus who had waited generations to see the temple rebuilt. Shah emphasized that nowhere else in the world has the majority community waited this long for a resolution of faith. He described the temple’s completion as a triumph of Indian democracy and secularism, accomplished peacefully through constitutional means.

The Ram Mandir is also a symbol of people’s participation. It is among the world’s most successful crowd-funded religious projects, with over ₹5,000 crore raised from 12.7 crore people across India. It was not just the financial support that stood out, but also the emotional connection people felt—signifying the temple's place not just in Ayodhya, but in the hearts of Indians everywhere.

India’s Digital Leap: The 5G Revolution Under Modiji’s Leadership

Alongside cultural revival, Amit Shah highlighted a milestone in India’s technological advancement—the rollout of 5G services under Modiji’s leadership. Launched officially in October 2022, India’s 5G expansion has been nothing short of transformative. With remarkable speed, 5G coverage has spread to over 779 out of 783 districts by mid-2024. By February 2025, nearly 99.6% of all districts in the country had access to 5G, with more than 25 crore active users across urban and rural regions alike.

The impact of 5G is evident in multiple sectors: from healthcare and agriculture to education and logistics. It has enabled real-time communication, facilitated online diagnostics, and accelerated smart infrastructure projects. Shah noted that under Modiji, digital payments even reached the vegetable vendors, and the dream of a Digital India turned into a ground reality.

This feat was achieved not merely by relying on foreign technology but also by promoting indigenous innovation. The C-DOT-developed 5G core and Make in India policy encouraged Indian startups and telecom manufacturers to contribute to this transformation. The inclusion of vernacular languages in digital services, another initiative backed by Modiji, ensured that no one was left behind in this new digital era.

A Leadership That Connects Roots and the Future

Amit Shah’s statement was not just a celebration of two achievements but an articulation of Modiji’s larger vision—a leadership that honors India's civilizational roots while fearlessly embracing the future. In his words, these developments showcase a government that can uphold dharmic values and, at the same time, deliver on global competitiveness.

The Ram Mandir, deeply rooted in India's spiritual identity, and the 5G rollout, a symbol of technological progress, reflect Modiji’s dual focus: protecting heritage and driving innovation. This balanced approach has become a cornerstone of the BJP’s governance model and electoral narrative.

Shah also criticized political opponents who questioned the relevance of temple construction. He said that such critics fail to understand the emotional and cultural importance of faith in India. In contrast, Modiji has shown that upholding tradition does not mean rejecting modernity—it means fusing both for a stronger and more unified nation.

Conclusion: A Defining Moment in India’s National Journey

India is at a turning point where ancient faith and futuristic development are no longer seen in conflict. The construction of the Ram Mandir and the rollout of 5G services symbolize this harmonious coexistence. Amit Shah’s tribute to Modiji captures the essence of a leader who, in ten years, has changed the course of Indian history—from reviving temples that were once destroyed to launching satellites and smart cities.

While these moves have earned both admiration and criticism, there’s no denying that they define a new narrative for India: a story where the past is respected, and the future is boldly pursued. Whether it is Ayodhya’s temple towers or India’s growing data towers, Modiji’s legacy is becoming a fusion of timeless values and tomorrow’s aspirations.
