UP Sanitation Workers to Receive Salary Hike

The Yogi Adityanath government has increased the salaries of sanitation workers across Uttar Pradesh. Effective from April, all sanitation workers in the state will receive a minimum monthly salary of ₹16,000. Previously, their wages ranged between ₹9,000 and ₹11,000 per month, but now a standardized salary of ₹16,000 has been introduced for all.

Guinness World Record Achieved for Largest Cleanliness Drive

During the Maha Kumbh, the Uttar Pradesh government set a Guinness World Record for organizing the largest coordinated cleanliness campaign. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, received the award from Guinness World Records in recognition of this achievement.

On Wednesday, hundreds of thousands of devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj for the final holy dip of the Maha Kumbh Mela, coinciding with Mahashivratri, as the six-week-long religious event came to a close.

At the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh, Chief Minister Yogi remarked, “Such a massive gathering has never occurred anywhere in the world. A total of 66.30 crore devotees participated, yet there were no reports of abduction, robbery, or any other such incidents. Even with microscopes and binoculars, the Opposition couldn't find a single flaw. They left no stone unturned in spreading misinformation because they were displeased with such a monumental event.”

The Maha Kumbh featured six significant bathing dates: Paush Purnima (January 13), Makar Sankranti (January 14), Mauni Amavasya (January 29), Basant Panchami (February 3), Maghi Purnima (February 12), and Mahashivratri (February 26), including three 'Amrit Snan'.
