Sindoor turns into Barood: PM Modi’s bold message on Operation Sindoor at Bikaner rally

Bikaner, May 22, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful address at Deshnoke, Bikaner, marking the government’s firm and swift response to terrorism following the tragic Pahalgam attack that killed 26 innocent civilians on April 22.

In his first major speech after the operation, Modi used a poignant metaphor deeply embedded in Indian culture, saying “Duniya bhar ne dekh liya jab sindoor barood ban jata hai tab natija kya hota hai.”

This vivid imagery symbolized the nation’s transformation from pain and mourning into strength and retaliation. Modi further emphasized the pain inflicted on the daughters of the nation in Pahalgam, saying, “Those who tried to erase the sindoor of the daughters of the nation have been reduced to dust.”

What was Operation Sindoor?

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, as a decisive military action targeting terror infrastructure across the India-Pakistan border and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation focused on dismantling the hideouts, training camps, and logistical bases of terror groups responsible for the Pahalgam massacre — including Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Within just 22 minutes, Indian forces destroyed nine major terrorist hideouts, showcasing unprecedented speed and coordination. Modi highlighted this with pride: “Within 22 minutes, nine major terrorist hideouts were destroyed.”

The operation was a demonstration of India’s evolving defense doctrine — moving beyond reactive measures to swift, calculated, and pre-emptive strikes that cripple terror networks at their roots.

“This is not just anger; this is the fierce form of capable India, this is the new form of India,” Modi stated, underlining the shift in India’s strategic approach to national security.

PM Modi’s message to the nation and adversaries

Modi’s address carried a stern warning to terrorists and their sponsors, reinforcing India’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty: “Our resolve is unshakable, our will is ironclad. India will not tolerate attacks on its soil or its people.”

He stressed that India is building a future where no threat goes unanswered and where every citizen’s safety is paramount. The Prime Minister also symbolically linked the cultural concept of 'sindoor' — a mark of marital status and womanhood — with the defense of the nation's honor and daughters, sending a message of protection and justice.

“We are building a new India — one that protects every citizen, that stands up for its daughters, and that sends a clear message to those who think of harming us: your time is over,” Modi concluded, earning widespread applause.

Responses from leadership and the nation

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar lauded Operation Sindoor as a defining moment for India’s national security, calling it a testament to the nation’s strong stance against terrorism.“Bharat is very different now,” Dhankhar said, praising the government’s proactive approach.

Public sentiment across the country echoed the Prime Minister’s words, with citizens expressing renewed faith in the armed forces and the government’s resolve to protect the country.

A new chapter in India’s fight against terrorism

Operation Sindoor signals a critical shift in India’s counterterrorism strategy — one characterized by swift, precise, and uncompromising action. It serves as a warning to terror groups and their backers that India’s patience has limits and its capabilities are formidable.

Prime Minister Modi’s address in Bikaner underscored a nation that mourns its losses but fights back with unyielding strength, dignity, and resolve.
