Rajnath Singh Warns Pakistan Against Future Aggression, Reiterates India's Position on PoK During Kargil Vijay Diwas

On the occasion of the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1999 Kargil War and reaffirmed India's commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Addressing military personnel, veterans, and the families of martyrs at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Ladakh, Singh reflected on the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces while outlining the country's present-day security priorities. His address also touched upon Operation Sindoor, India's approach towards Pakistan, and the importance of maintaining a strong and modern defence force in an increasingly complex security environment.

Honouring the Heroes of Kargil

Remembering the sacrifices made during the Kargil War, Rajnath Singh described the conflict as one of the defining moments in India's military history. He said the victory achieved by Indian soldiers in the challenging mountainous terrain remains a symbol of extraordinary courage, resilience, and patriotism.

The Defence Minister noted that the bravery displayed by the armed forces in reclaiming strategic positions during the conflict continues to inspire every Indian. He emphasized that Kargil Vijay Diwas is not merely a commemoration of a military success but also an occasion to honour the soldiers whose dedication ensured the nation's security despite immense hardships.

During his address, Rajnath Singh reiterated that India's security remains paramount and that the country is fully prepared to respond to any threat against its sovereignty. Referring to recent developments along the border, he stated that any future act of aggression against India would be met with a decisive response.

Operation Sindoor was launched following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in May 2025, which claimed the lives of several civilians. The government has also focused on improving border roads, tunnels, and logistics to ensure faster deployment of troops in strategically important regions.

India's armed forces continue to work closely across the Army, Navy, and Air Force through greater joint planning and integrated operations.
