India has marked an important diplomatic milestone by opening a fully modern, state-of-the-art chancery for its Consulate General in Shanghai. Cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Yiwu and Keqiao, all within the consulate’s jurisdiction, were strongly represented.

In his address, Ambassador Rawat described the new chancery as a reflection of India’s vision of delivering world-class public services abroad. Consul General Pratik Mathur emphasised that the upgraded premises not only improve service delivery but also create a more conducive environment for advancing trade, culture and bilateral cooperation across East China.
