Anthropic Brings Claude's In-Country AI Inference to India Through AWS

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has announced a major expansion of its services in India by introducing in-country inference for its Claude family of AI models through Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Web Services' (AWS) managed platform for generative AI. The initiative is expected to make it easier for Indian enterprises, financial institutions, healthcare providers, and government organizations to deploy advanced AI solutions while ensuring that sensitive data remains within the country.


The announcement comes as India continues to witness rapid adoption of artificial intelligence across industries. What Is In-Country Inference?

Inference is the process through which an AI model analyzes a user's prompt and generates a response. With Anthropic's new capability, AI requests made through Amazon Bedrock's India endpoint will be processed locally within AWS infrastructure in India. This means businesses can use Claude's advanced AI capabilities without transferring sensitive customer or business data overseas.
